While many people might have come across Jessi M’Bengue’s name when she first performed in the controversial video of Blurred Lines, many are not aware that she is a successful African supermodel.
Indeed, the hottest song of the summer of 2013, Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke, also turned out to be a controversial number. Even if it did hit the number one position on the Billboard Hit 100 list, the video features three models wearing nude colored thongs and dancing topless with three fully dressed men singing and ogling at them.
And more recently, she posed for Playboy!

The song became controversial as the song’s lyrics were interpreted as rapey, misogynistic and sexist. For such reasons, there was much focus on the models, Jessi M’Bengue, Emily Ratajkowski and Elle Evans and how they came about performing in such a video. The models however confirmed that the video was meant to be a fun song for the summer and not be taken seriously. Also, the gentlemen had been professional and made the models feel completely at ease during the shoot.
As per Jessi M’Bengue, she expressed her surprise at the controversies that surrounded the video. She declared that, her body is part of her modeling profession and is a product that she needs to dress as per the need of every entertainment show that she is a part of.
